what's the best compact digital camera for capturing VIDEO?
The grandparents want to see videos of the kids. It's faster and more convenient for me to upload videos online using my digital camera. So my camcorder goes unused and I'm capturing lots of video with the camera. But my camera is a few years old and the video quality is not that good. Also, there is a long shutter delay when I take pictures. So i want a new compact camera that has fast picture taking and better video.
The Canon S3 IS gets good reviews for it's movie modes. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons3is/
One of my students bought it several months ago and we tested the movie mode. It had very good results. The camera also takes great still images. Circuit City has it for $329.99. For less expensive cameras they're all about the same, it would be best to stick with the top brands though like Canon and Nikon.
