What are some good Nikkor lenses for the Nikon D3000 D-SLR Camera?
Looking for good reviews and recommendations for good Nikon brand Nikkor lenses. My parents said I can ask for one for my birthday and I just recently bought myself a Nikon D3000 D-SLR camera and I already have the standard 18-55mm Zoom lens. I am looking for a good macro lense, so if you have any suggestions, I am looking for some input. Thanks!
Get the 50mm f/1.8. It is not named the nifty fifty for no reason. It is a great all around lens. However, your D3k does not have an AF motor so, you won't be able to AF with this lens. The 50mm f/1.4 has a built in AF motor, I believe. It is not practical to buy a macro lens right out the gate, I'd say, get a new lens to replace the 18-55. If you want to go crazy, the lens I would recommend over all others is the 24-70mm f/2.8. You can use that lens for just about everything.
