Old SLR 35mm camera, where can i get lenses for it?
Hi guys, was given my Grandfathers Praktica MTL 3 SLR Camera for my 18th last September, dug it out the other day and cleaned it, was looking into buying a fish eye lense for it but i have no idea where to start.
I'm less than amature when it comes to photography, ive just been using a compact digital camera to take pictures for parties and things but I do have a good eye for nice shots and would like to learn more and develop some skills as a hobby, any advice would be great and very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance
If I'm not mistaken it uses M42 or screwmount lenses. You can find lots of those at flea markets, antique shops, garage sales and eBay. There are at least two Pentax fisheye lenses that will fit it but if you find them expensive, you can instead get a semi-fisheye adapter that screws on to the regular lens.
Advice? That's a very light camera. Weigh the tripod down with a bag of sand if you decide to use one. Mine got blown down by a gust of wind. Due it's weight, if you install an Industar 50mm pancake lens, you can pocket the camera if your jacket has big pockets. It works great as a walkaround camera. Very comfortable to use.
