Is it safe to use two "light duty" extension cords to power a TV?
The picture on the package the cords came in shows a fan and a lamp, so is it dangerous to use them to power a large TV, especially if you're using two of these extension cords put together?
On the back it says "do not plug more than a total of 1625 watts in this cord set," but I don't know the wattage of the TV.
Look on the label of the TV set.
The only problem you might have, if the set draws less than 1625 watts (and it almost definitely does) is that the voltage drop with 2 cords may be a bit much. It won't damage anything (unless you get ridiculous - making a 100 foot cord by patching 3 foot cords together, for example) but the audio and brightness may be a trifle low. They'll come back to normal when you power the set properly. (If it's a CRT set - picture tube - the picture might also shrink in a little.)
