Sirius radio home kit NOW WHAT???
Had a sirius radio and home kit since Sept 2007, and was "hooked" to my sons old boom box. Came in great, have outside antenna and now all of a sudden says "acquiring signal". Nothing changed. Called Sirius, got no where. So went to radio shack and bought NEW RADIO AND NEW Home Kit. Got home, got it all hooked up and STILL "acquiring signal. Fellow at Radio Shack said I need a radio with a special hookup............the other one worked fine before. Do I need a special radio to use with sirius receiver?
If its "Still acquiring signal" the antenna just is not "seeing" the system. I had to move mine around to get a good location but once I had one it just worked. ANY RADIO SHOULD WORK! (Tell the nut at RS he has the WRONG ANSWERS!) I use mine through the home stereo system just fine. Works in the car with your radio doesn't it? If not you might try it there and be sure it really works there. The only time I ever had the issue, it was Sirius, just didn't have the correct serial number in the system somehow! (you did try the new antenna with the new kit?)
