Aquarium Background Display Stand?
Hey,
I'm planning on opening a small pet store, and can't find where I can get the aquarium background display stand like they have in other pet stores (where you have have a couple rolls of various designs). I did find one online a couple weeks ago, though no luck finding that again. Any idea?

While I have seen some for sale through the background wholesalers, I've never been given a free stand in my entire time in the business. Stands are costly, and require a lot of work to build for what it is. If you can't find one available online, I wouldn't know where else to direct you at the moment. Sometimes basic shop outfitters can show you something that might function in that fashion.
In a pinch, I've built a 6 background display shelf, but I had to anchor it to the wall because I didn't think it through. Simply, I used some 4"x4" pieces of wood that I drilled small holes into. I cut wire coat hangers off at the twist, and then again at one of the 45 degree bends. Bending the remaining part of the hanger into an L shape, you're set. With superglue or wood glue, fill the hole you've just drilled in the 4x4, and plug the wire (short piece) into the hole with the long end facing up. It should be mighty strong when it dries. Rinse and repeat. I place the roll on that, with an elastic around it to keep it from spooling endlessly, and there you have it. It's not pretty, but it works if you can't find anything else!
As a final unrelated word of advice, tank backgrounds are a nightmare, and I think I've sold 20 meters in over 10 years in the pet industry. If you want to go that way, I commend you for doing a complete job, but it's not something that will ever pay for itself, nevermind carry you to the bank.
