How do you get rid of the white backdrop in pictures?
I have downloaded some pics but of characters of mario. They are on a white backdrop and I don't want the white to show on my itouch screen when I put the pics their. How would I get ride of the white back drop? I already turned them into PNG files.
I want them as icons.
I don't have photo shop which would be a free software that would do the same thing?
I can tell you the steps as per Photoshop:
First, you promote the background layer to a proper layer.
Then you select the white background and delete it.
Now you need to save it in a format that supports transparency, such as tiff or psd. Jpg's don't support transparencies, but I think png's do, too.
The question is which files are supported by the itouch, it may not take anything with a transparency.
