Should I clip my baby eclectus's wings?
He is 15 weeks old, and I was wondering if I should clip his wings. I just read someone elses question and someone said that if their wings are clipped, they can't fly to a perch to go to the toilet. I would like to potty train mine because my mum and Dad don't want bird poo everywhere!

At what age?
Clipping a birds wings is always a good idea. If they arent clipped, then they could get out the cage and fly into objects and seriously injure themselves. They can even fly out any doors and windows! Birds dont really worry where they potty unless they are trained. So i doubt that a bird will fly to a perch just to potty.
At about 2 months of age, a chicks feathers are fully developed and they will start to practice flying. If their feathers are fully developed, then you may clip their wings.
Do you know how to clip a birds wings?
If you dont then ask at your local aviary, avian vet, or pet store and they will show you what to do. Once you have seen how they do it, you will be able to do it on your own with no hassles.
